Wasabi and Rare Roast Beef Toasts
Makes: 24
Ingredients
1 French bread stick, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon olive oil
⅓ cup mayonnaise
2-3 teaspoons wasabi paste
400g thinly sliced rare roast beef
16 watercress sprigs
Method
- Preheat oven to moderate, 180°C.
- Brush bread slices with oil. Place in a single layer on an oven tray. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until lightly golden.
- In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise and wasabi.
- Just before serving, top each bread slice with a dollop of mayonnaise, a piece of beef and a watercress sprig.
Tips
Roast your own piece of beef if liked – allow 15-20 minutes per 500g and bake in a hot oven, 200°C
